[Resolved] Where do the enties go?

  • This might be a stupid question, but where does WP store the entries I’ve written?? Is there an archive-file, like Pivot has? I’m new to WP, that’s why I ask this.

  • They’re in your mysql database.

I’m trying to locate them on my server, but I can’t find them.

    Still in your mysql database.

If your host gives you something like phpMyAdmin access, you can even connect to the database and see them in the tables that were built when you installed.

Which begs the question: What’s the real question? Just wanna see ’em or is there something you wish to do now that you know where they are?

My host doesn’t give me acces to mysql database unfortunatly. I was wondering when I use my FTP programm to backup my old installation of WP (with all my changes) to my compter and then uploaded those files to my new database if I can get the postings to show up again on the new log.

Haven’t done that yet by the way!

You’re losing me. Who created the mysql database for you? How did you make a backup of the database?
You cannot back up your database with ftp. You can only back up your files.

That last sentence answers my question!

(the hosting-company set the database by the way. Mailed them with the question if I can get acces to it. Up to now I couldn’t and didn’t want to either, but now I do, but I thought I check here if it could be done in antoher way).

If they’re going to let you use it, they need to give you access to it.

    that’s why I emailed them.
