Try checking your active theme’s templates (e.g., header.php, home.php, etc.)
OK, Went into Appearance/Editor link and this is what I found:
Templates
This child theme inherits templates from a parent theme, Madison.
• index.php
(font/index.php)
• Theme Footer
(footer.php)
• Theme Functions
(functions.php)
• index.php
(lang/index.php)
• Single Page
(page.php)
• index.php
(plugin-features/index.php)
Styles
• Stylesheet
(style.css)
• RTL Stylesheet
(rtl.css)
• style-mobile.css
• style-responsive.css
• style-tablet.css
After looking in each .php file, I saw nothing that related to links. Am I looking in the right place?

to rule out plugins/theme, try:
– deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
Before I do anything more,I had better explain that all the other links on the site work fine. The problem is all the links used to be named after the page content and somehow this got changed maybe by a hacker. For example, contact page link used to be website name/contact. Now it is website name/?page_id=1756. As I just stated, all the other links works fine with this kind of page ID thing. However, the misdirected links still have the former link name and that is what needs to be changed.I hope I am being clearAs to what the problem is.

Carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.
Betweeen myself and and my webhost company, I have already addressed the security issues that led to site being compromised. The site is clean and has continuous scanning for malware, etc. Other issues that are mentioned in that article and may have been a problem have also been addressed. I also added ssl certificate to my wp login months ago and that alone made a differnce. All I want to do is find the section where I can change the links that need to be addressed.

Deactivated all plugins, no difference. Switched to default theme again no difference.
