[Resolved] Where did my sidebar go? Twenty-Eleven Child Theme

  • This is the site I’m working on.
I was developing it as a one-column site, editing the style.css of the child theme…
Then I realized I needed a right sidebar and so I selected that option under “Theme options” but no such sidebar appears on the site.

What have I done to hide it or what can I do to make it visible?

    ANY help is very appreciated!

    Thank you in advance!

    Ana

“Page” in Twentyeleven theme is by default no sidebar. Until you assign a with sidebar Page Template for it, then sidebar will show up.

    Thanks for the response paulwpxp.

Can you clarify what the steps are in order to assign a sidebar to this page template?

After taking some time away from the site & wordpress, I’ve understood Paul’s message and was able to solve my query with the Twenty Eleven Extensions plugin. 🙂

    THanks!

@artisana, I’m sorry I missed your earlier post. You can assign a Page Template via a dropdown in Page Attributes metabox on the right hand side. See the screenshot here.

If all you need is to be able to have sidebar on some pages, then the plugin is a bit overkill. So, it depends.
