Where did my DASHBOARD go?!?! (18 posts)

I made a change to my Heading (on my General page on my dashboard) and when I updated it I got an "OOPS!!! Page not found" error.

Now I can't seem to even FIND my dashboard!

When you go to my site http://www.encorelakeshore.com the result is what looks like a sitemap. encorelakeshore.com/wp-admin results in the same "OOPS!!!" error... HELP!

    Hi,

Make sure that you have installed wordpress on the root directory. If you have installed wordpress in sub directory then you can access it via:

    http://www.encorelakeshore.com/wordpress_installed-directory/wp-admin

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    That didn't work Shane.

I initially installed wordpress in the wrong directory and we did a redirect. Everything was working fine (I could update the site, make changes, add pages, etc.) and then POOF! I started getting the "OOPS!!!" error after trying to change the color of my header on the General dashboard link.

    Any other ideas?

I re-uploaded my wp-admin folder... (it seemed like that was a potential fix in other situations) but no luck.

    This is SO frustrating!

Thanks esmi, but I had already tried that.

When I log in it takes me to the same OOPS!!! screen.

    Any other ideas?

    Anyone?

The site url is still set to http://encorelakeshore.com/. It should be http://encorelakeshore.com/wordpress/

I know that... but when you go to either it takes me to a screen that looks like a sitemap... and not the dashboard.

There is no way that I can find to get to a page where I can modify the site.

If I can get to the dashboard I'll be fine... but I can't.

    Any other ideas?

    CJ,

Although it would appear to be the problem, the URL is fine. Both encorelakeshore.com and encorelakeshore.com/wordpress BOTH take me to the same spot. The site was working fine and the Dashboard "disappeared" after I made a small change to the header color... unless I accidentally hit something else.

What I NEED is to get to my dashboard.

Oh, and I don't want to attempt to change the URL in the database... it sounds a little too complicated for my abilities.

No it isn't. And that's also the reason why your site currently looks the way it does.

    esmi,

So what should I do that won't involve me screwing up my site by messing with stuff that I shouldn't be messing with (like phpMyAdmin)?

    Should I just reinstall WordPress?

    Nope, I got:

Fatal error: Call to a member function escape() on a non-object in /home/content/s/a/c/sachmothor/html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 502

    (sachmothor is my username).

    I'm changing the file back.

I can't use the second option because I cannot access my Dashboard to get to the General panel.
