@nikeo removed them in 3.1.5 as they were a bottleneck:
The dev tools are no longer part of the theme core anymore. It was a tough decision but I finally decided to take this away, mainly for improving the global performances of the theme and also because this option was only visible for admin users and had no impact for the front end. No other options will be removed or changed.
So is there any kind of guide to theme hooks then?
Not at this point, but could be releasing soon.
My temporary workaround is to search in the likely files for the apply_filters
function. You can then use the details to setup your add_filter
function.
All the docs say customisation is easy, just make a child theme and edit functions.php. Then, just when you actually need some help, say, an API reference, a list of hooks, an example, ANYTHING, the docs stop and just say to turn on dev mode. WHICH DOES NOT EXIST!
Short of telepathy, how on earth is someone supposed to learn?
You may list as a bullet point that customisation is easy, but that’s utter rubbish – I’ve been bashing my head against this for hours now, and every single avenue of attack is closed off by a total and utterly lack of documentation!
Customising Customizr is INFURIATING!

Personally I myself prefer to look at the source to figure it out.

The support from this sub-forum is top notch. Rather than resurrecting a 4 month old topic why not post a topic where you explain what you are trying to do?
