    Hello!

    Today mayor update 4.0.6 (4.0.7) of All In One SEO Pack is not good. πŸ™

    I have on my pages and posts keywords. Where are now these keywords? In section Advanced on page (post) there are no keywords. πŸ™

    Update 4.0.7 didn’t resolve this issues.

    Thanks.

    Best regards.

    @robert4web,

    Thanks for reaching out! All the keywords in your previous version should still be there in the new one, so if they are not showing up that is unintended.

    What version of All in One SEO did you have installed previously?

    Do you have any notices in the notifications area on the Dashboard of AIOSEO (4.0.7)?

    Hello Benjamin!

    Before I had version 3.7.1 and keywords were on Home Page Settings – Home Keywords (comma separated).

    But in 4.0.7 – here are no Home Keywords, just keywords on page or. post.

    Another issue – I added keywords in 4.0.6 but when I updated do 4.0.7 – no keywords here!

    Best regards,

    R.

    @robert4web,

    Are you using a static home page for your site? If so, the keywords will no longer be in the main settings, but rather on the static home page itself.

    Can you look there to see if they appear on the advanced tab of the static home page?

    If not, I will have our development team take a closer look to see if there is an issue with the migration.

    Hello Benjamin!

    Yes, I am using a static home page for my website.

    Unfortunately, on the advanced tab of the static home page I can’t find keywords.

    Best regards,

    @robert4web,

    Can you try something for me?

    1. Temporarily set your home page to “Latest Posts”
    2. Visit the AIOSEO > Search Appearance > Home Page Settings section
    3. See if your keywords appear there (copy them if so)
    4. Set your site back to your “static home page”
    5. Paste your keywords in the Static Home Page settings and hit “enter” on the keyboard.

    Let me know if that works for you.

    Hello Benjamin!

    Thanks. I tried your suggestion but in Home Page Keyword I found only – List is empty. πŸ™

    So I wonder where are missed keywords?

    Best regards,

    R.

    Hey @robert4web,

    I’m the developer that’s working on this.

    I believe that the update did everything correctly and that you were experiencing a bug in the previous version of All in One SEO. I know that sounds weird, but I’ll explain below.

    In the old version of AIOSEO, you could set your homepage title, description and keywords under General Settings. However, these settings were always only intended to be used if you have your homepage set to display the latest posts instead of a static page. Therefore there also is another setting below those called “Use Static Frontpage Instead” which you could toggle.

    The idea was that, if you had a static frontpage, users would enable that setting and set their title, description and keywords in the metabox of that page. That’s also how it works in the new version now. However, all of this became a buggy mess that was hard to untangle because if you had a static frontpage, and set your title, description and keywords under General Settings, the title and description would still be output correctly, but the keywords wouldn’t (I just verified this).

    You should be able to verify this by temporarily setting your homepage to display the latest posts under Settings > Reading, then navigating to Search Appearance and checking if your old keywords show up there. If they do, then you can simply copy them from there, set your homepage back to the static page you are using and paste your keywords there.

    So the TLDR is that you were probably experiencing a bug in v3 that we fixed in v4. Please check this and let me know what you find!

    – Arnaud
