When/where do the tables get created?

  • I’m trying to do a clean install of 1.5 (not 1.5.1) and everytime I load the install.php, it says, It doesn't look like you've installed WP yet. Try running install.php. And so, I followed the logical path that the PHP parser would take to get to that message.

    In install.php it states the following:
    require_once('../wp-config.php');
    require_once('./upgrade-functions.php');

    The upgrade-functions.php file looks like it’s the file that creates the tables in the database, however, it seems that wp-settings.php (by way of wp-config.php) asks for the user table before install.php even gets to the line which includes upgrade-functions.php to setup the tables.

    So, basically, it seems the code is asking for the user table even before it’s created. It doesn’t make sense.

    BTW, I download 1.5 from someone here on the boards as 1.5.1 is not working for clean installs.

    (I hope this makes sense and I’m not confusing anyone.)

  • 1 minute ago I made a totally clean install with WP1.5.1.
    It worked perfectly.

    That’s weird. I just did a clean install of 1.5.1 right now too, and it worked!

    Yesterday I tried about 5 times, and each time I had problems.
