Support » Plugin: Add From Server » When using filedate option – ends up 2181/10/01

  • Resolved bbouton

    Hi Don,

Lately (last month or so) when I add files to the Media Library using Add From Sever if the option use File Time all the files are given the date of 2181/10/01 and are said to have attached to the page at that date as well.

My server time is set correctly. All other dates in WP are correct. My computer is set correctly and the files themselves have correct dates.

If I choose the option of using Current Time then all goes as expected and the actual current time in this century is used.

Weird huh? Any thoughts on how to correct.
I am using WP 3.8.1 and Version of Add from Server.

Thank you for your service to the WP community.

I think I know why this would be happening.. It’s auto-detecting the uploads folder that it’s in, and it just so happens to be matching more than it should.

Can you get the full server file path of the files? Do you know how? I suspect your home directory might be something like /users/something2081/10/… and it’s matching the 2081/10 as being the upload directory date..

If that’s the case, there’s not much I can suggest other than editing the plugin and removing lines 305 to 316 as I won’t be updating the plugin to fix it anytime soon unfortunately.

It is on a customers’s private server. The only path I can get though FTP is /web/wp-content/uploads.

I’ve been using this plugin for 3 years now with no problem, but the customer did move servers recently, paths would have changed, and that is when the problem probably started. I didn’t notice it at first.

I don’t mind edit the plugin, better than relying on my memory to us Current time all the time. Thank you for your prompt response.
