# When posting; No permalink Archive

 * I’ve recently set up wordpress on my domain and I’ve just posted my very first
   article. It appears on the actual blog index page, but when I click the article,
   it gives a 404 error. It does this for the archive, categories and about page.

 * What’s going on? Is there any permissions I should have set to folders when I
   installed? It’s not creating any web pages by the looks.

 * you need to check the permissions on your .htaccess file, if it’s not writeable
   by WP, then you’ll need to add the required re-write rules (provided in the admin
   panel, under permalinks options) manually by copy and pasting. then just make
   sure the .htaccess file is readable, and all should be OK.

 * Primary tips: Confirm with host you have mod_rewrite and AllowOverride one and
   enabled.
