• It does not seem to combine my CSS files (it did it before) and I see no way to actually trigger the combining action manually.

    When is it doing this?

    (yes combine CSS is checked).

@jowo I don’t know how you tested it, perhaps the feature still works, but you only enabled combine CSS for the guest visitors and you checked it out when you were logged in as an admin. Also, please make sure there are at least two files in the HEAD section of your website or at least two in the BODY, otherwise, there’s no combine to perform if there’s for example only one CSS file left in the HEAD.

Please share with us the URL to the page where this option does not work, so I could check it out. If you’re not comfortable with that, then please do it privately via https://www.gabelivan.com/contact/

@jowo The issue you had, maybe still having, could be related to the one from here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/sometimes-it-combines-css-and-sometimes-it-doesnt/ – consider using the development version that was recently updated. Once the next tag will be released (v1.3.7.1) it will also have the patch that was applied to fix the “combine CSS/JS” problem.
