Support » Plugin: Better WordPress Minify » When I Refresh a Page the CSS Breaks

  • When Better WordPress Minify is disabled and I refresh a page the CSS works fine, but when BWM is enabled, and you refresh a page the CSS breaks and the entire layout of site gets messed up and distorted.

I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache, clearing enqued files etc, nothing works. I am using version 1.3.3

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Do you happen to enable friendly minify url? Any error saying cache directory is not writable or similar?

    Not that I know of.

I know friendly minify url is disabled, and I don’t get any errors saying cache directory is not writable or anything similar to that.

OK, so when you enable the plugin, can you also enable debug mode (BWP Minify > General Options > Minify Library Settings) and copy the output of the minify string of your main CSS file (e.g. http://yourdomain.com/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/?f=....style.css) and paste it here so I can check? You can use PasteBin to paste the output as well.

I’m seeing the same thing. In trying to debug this we started loading the minified file directly and get the same result. Loads fine but when you refresh (soft) it spits this out:

Warning: strtotime(): It is not safe to rely on the system’s timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected the timezone ‘UTC’ for now, but please set date.timezone to select your timezone. in /home/dvi2015cpanel/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/min/lib/HTTP/ConditionalGet.php on line 360

And very oddly… it repeats this behavior exactly every other time first refresh breaks, second refresh works fine, third refresh breaks, fourth refresh works fine… and on and on (my refresh key got tired). Also.. it only breaks on a soft refresh. If I force a hard refresh (holding down shift when refreshing) the file loads fine, consistently. Any ideas, Khang?
