  • The plugin applies a tracking code automatically to all pages of your WordPress site unless settings exclude them (ex: don’t track logged in administrators).

OK so the plugin applies the tracking code automatically. I only recently added the plugin. Should I go back and delete all the manually entered tracking codes I have on pages. I don’t want to GA to double count.

Right. The point of using the plugin is to avoid all that duplicate work 🙂

OK. that makes sense but can you tell me if by leaving the manually entered tracking codes in, am I getting double counts in my Google Analytics reports?

Sorry. I don’t know. I would say that just for future site management it’s probably worth the time to clean it up now while it’s fresh in your mind. There’s definitely no advantage to having it there.
