    Hi,

    When i tried to do a order on a device that has never been on the website before the checkout fields are already prefilled with information from a previous user.
    This is very weird since this device was never logged in to the site.
    I have tried editing the form-billing.php and form-shipping.php by replacing <?php woocommerce_form_field( $key, $field, $checkout->get_value( $key ) ); ?> with <?php woocommerce_form_field( $key, $field, ” ); ?> according to a tutorial i found on the internet. While it worked for others in the comments and it does not seem to work for me.
    Did anyone encounter the same problem and found a fix or does anyone know what is wrong?
    Help would be greatly appriciated.
    My website is http://e-vapes.nl

    With kind regards,
    Thomas

    Howdy!

    It sounds like the checkout fields were pre-populated with a different user’s information, not your own information, is that correct?

    If it was your own information, then I’d guess that your browser saved the information from a previous purchase on a different site and pre-populated the fields. You can test that by trying a guest checkout using a different Internet Browser than you normally do.

    If it was another user’s information that was shown at checkout, that would seem to be a caching issue. If your site has caching/varnish, you will need to make sure the following pages on your site are not cached in any way:

    * Checkout
    * Cart
    * My Account

    Then that should resolve the issue.

    If Varnish is being used, please follow the information here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-caching-plugins/#section-4

    Hi,
    Thank you for taking your time to respond to my problem.
    I tried excluding these pages from the cache plugin. When this did not work i tried deactivating the plugin but still no results. It keeps filling in the information of a test order I tried. This is not due to auto fill or anything because i use a different browser and device and keep clearing the coockies to make sure i get a fresh result.
    Is there anything else i could try?

    With kind regards,
    Thomas

    Not quite sure what this would be, but here are some things to check:

    I’ve also seen issues similar to this caused by:

    1) Caching/Varnish
    2) A corrupted or updated database

    For the first, make sure all caching plugins and your web hosts are following the suggestions here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-caching-plugins/ – and double-check with your hosting provider that they don’t have any server side caching setup. If they do, have them exclude those pages as well.

    For the second, check your System Status to make sure that your WooCommerce Database version is the same as your WooCommerce version. Then if those are the same make sure you don’t have any development/test sites that are connected to your live site’s database. And then aside from that, have you ever done order importing/exporting on the site? If so, it’s possible something went wrong during an import and there are inaccurate database entries.

    I’d highly recommend checking with your hosting provider first about caching.
