I have noticed after deleting an original page in WordPress with lets say “your_domain.com/contact/” and then trying to recreate the same page with the same name, my WP is generating a (-2) at the end of the link, like: “your_domain.com/contact-2/. What I don’t understand since the original page was deleted why word press it treating new pages as if the original still exists? How to I clean a WP cashes if there is such even a thing exists within WP? Thank you ahead of time for clearing this up for me.

Empty your trash – WP still sees deleted pages so long as they are in the trash.

Thank you WPYogi. I was wrecking my brain for a whole day, something so easy :). Once again thank you for taking your time to respond to my post. Regards.

You’re welcome, and it’s only “easy” after you know about – it was new news to me one time too :). Sorry you had to wrack your brain for so long – hopefully you learned a few other new things?!
