When choosing language it jumps back to homepage

When changing to a different language, it jumps back to the homepage instead of staying on the same page but displaying it in the other language.

I’ve tried

The option “Forces link to front page” is not ticked. I have ticked it, saved. Unticked and saved again to see if something got stuck.

I have tried the switcher on the menu and on it’s own in the header. Nothing seems to work.
