Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 » When checking ContactForm7 reCaptcha user is scrolled-down to page footer

  • Hi Folks,
When using the reCaptcha in ContactForm 7, we are seeing a UX issue.

We are seeing this on multiple sites, with multiple themes, which leads me to believe it is not theme related.

    1. on Mobile browser (Android and iOS), when you check the reCaptcha tickbox
    2. you are scrolled really fast right to the site footer, so you suddenly can’t tell where you are.
    3. this will lead to people not submitting form (as they think they have already done it), and/or bad UX, so user will be annoyed.

    Examples of this issue happening:-

There are a couple of workarounds here on StackOverflow, and I am wondering if Contact Form 7 might include a way to keep the user on the form, so that we do not have nasty JS workarounds appearing everywhere.

Plus a lot of people probably are not aware that their contactform 7 UX is bad on mobile because of this…. losing customers and visitors.

    Cheers,
    Jeff
