    Do you have any idea on whats going on? BTW this seesm to be a WAMP problem, since Wordfence is not working on any of my local sites atm..

    I tried the following:

    <IfModule mpm_winnt_module>
    ThreadStackSize 8388608
    </IfModule>

    Best regards / Roland, Stockholm Sweden

    Hi @rolandaa,

    Thanks for letting us know!

    I’m glad you’ve managed to get Wordfence working on your local sites.

    If you believe the solution you’ve applied could benefit other users, feel free to share 🙂

    Same problem here would be interested in the fix you tried.

    Hi I am facing same issue while activate the plugin.
    I got following error while going to activate the plugin. It was working fine. When i visit admin panel, at that time i got file missing error and plugin was deactivavted. So i have upload fresh copy for same, but now while i am going to activate the plugin, i am getting following error :

    “An error occurred.

    Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable.
    Please try again later.

    If you are the system administrator of this resource then you should check the error log for details.

    Faithfully yours, OpenResty.”

    Can anyone has idea for same?

    Hi there 🙂
    This is my first answer Im a bit excited haha. I’ve registered just to share what worked for me after about 7 hours reading and testing and debugging and frustrating and searching in google and repeat =(

    Hope it can help some one else =)
    So, for those of you having a local server (like wamp or xamp):

    If you have already tried the next things:

    – Deactivating all other plugins
    – Incrementing “ThreadStackSize” at httpd.conf
    – Uncommenting “Include conf/extra/httpd-mpm.conf” at httpd.conf
    – Debugging MySQL and/or Apache logs
    – Changing httpd.conf values
    – Make sure you are using virtualHosts for your local sites
    – Disabled your PC antivirus and firewall

    And if every time you try to activate Wordfence it shows you an ERR_CONNECTION_RESET message, then check your PHP version. It worked for me when I upgraded PHP from 5.4.x to 5.6.x (keeping Apache 2.4.x)

    Note: It could not be a MySQL server issue even MySQL error log shows something like “Got an error reading communication packets”.

    Greetings 🙂

    This issue was marked resolved. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s not. Just tried installing, and receiving ERR_CONNECTION_RESET when attempting to access wp-admin. Remove Wordfence from the plugins and all returns to running fine… 🙁
