• This is so strange.
It has happened to several of our installs across servers, so it can’t be a local issue.
    Different installs, different themes, etc.
    If you look at http://www.manhattanmotorcars.com/
Then this, http://www.manhattanmotorcars.com/timmy “timmy” doesnt exist, for me it takes me to admin and the 404 page begins with this,
    “s=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml” class=”ie8 wp-toolbar” lang=”en-US”>
    <![endif]–>”
Obviously, the code is not complete.
I fix the code, only to have it change again when I 404.
This has happened on several sites, 10+ under our control so far.
    Anyone else experiencing this issue?
    Any known fix?

Why does a 404 take you to the admin?
What in the heck is going on?
I have disabled ALL plugins and still the issue remains.

Any how, we removed all the extra code fromt he 404 pge, but the issue could return again.
Anyone else had this issue where a 404 redirects to admin in wordpress?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
