The Order Confirmation page is only used when you have enabled the “Stripe Modal Checkout” option.
We added this transition page to help accommodate more third-party themes. We found lots of third-party themes were not properly coded to validate the billing and shipping address information your customers enter on the checkout page. When using the Stripe Modal Checkout (the popup checkout form), this would cause an issue. To help prevent this, we added the transition confirmation page so that WooCommerce can validate the checkout information before your customer enters their payment info.
If you’d like to streamline the checkout process, I recommend disabling the Stripe Modal Checkout option. That will display the credit card fields directly on your checkout page and this transition page would not appear.
You can do this by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments, then click “Manage” to the right of Stripe. On the following page you’ll see the check box to enable/disable the Modal Checkout:

Thanks for the answer. I guess I’ll have to go this route now but not as user friendly.
How can I hide the Place Order button that is visible. I use WooCommerce Mulit Step Checkout plugin which streamlines the checkout process greatly and it has a place order button already. If I could hide the one that’s generated in the Stripe plugin with CSS that would solve my issue.
We do not have any code to hide the “Place Order” button on the transitional “Pay for Order” confirmation page. Our team isn’t able to help with custom code changes, but if you did want to look into replacing that button I would recommend checking https://woocommerce.com/customizations/ if you want to find a third-party developer to help with that.
Not looking to hide it on the transitional page… per your suggestion I have turned off the modal feature and now have the cc info on the confirmation page. It is the button on this page that I’d like to hide as it’s duplicated. I can’t seem to find what the button is called to hide it via CSS. Your help is greatly appreciated.
THE EXTRA CONFIRMATION PAGE HAS TO GO!
A terrible update that make the plugin usability go back 5 years!!
Come on… please make the necessary changes to have the plugin work correctly.
We aren’t able to help with any custom coding solutions, so I wouldn’t have an answer for you on how to hide the default “Place Order” button in WooCommerce.
I’ve spent the last HOUR trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and it turns out it was a TERRIBLE, FOOLISH change by the plugin developer! The point of a modal is to not leave the current screen! You’ve essentially made the modal WORTHLESS! BIG THUMBS DOWN!
