Support » Plugins » What's the scoop on WPtouch?

  • I can’t find much of anything about WPtouch here except single questions with mostly no answers and “comments closed”. Does it work as advertised? Can you just install it and presto, your WP site will look great in mobile devices? Are there better plugins for this?

  • Our plugin WPtouch is far and away the most successful, most popular mobile plugin for WordPress. Give it a spin yourself— you can download through the WordPress admin under the add new plugins area.

Thanks for the offer. However, I was hoping to hear from users.

It’s been downloaded 2 million times. It’s in use on wordpress.com. Search on Twitter- lots of dicussion there.

I guess I kinda think your request is funny— you can download, install and play with it in 5 minutes and decide for yourself.

I don’t think my request is funny at all. I also think your insistence in posting here is out of line when I’m asking for opinions from users, not the developer.

This is a support forum. Whilst some people do post feedback, if you post here, it’s going to be assumed that you are looking for assistance. As it stands, I think it’s quite reasonable for the plugin’s developer to respond. Most people complain when plugin developers don’t respond!

If you’re looking for other comments, why not browse all topics tagged with wptouch? That should give you a pretty good overview.

OK, I stand corrected. I did search for reports on the plugin but only found questions with mostly no answers and “comments closed”. I’d still like some user reports.

I use the free version of WPTouch on several of my websites and have had good feedback and compliments on it. I use all the standard “factory” settings – since I’m really not too sure what the options are all about.

So far the only report of a problem I’ve received is a user said the “Search” function was grayed out and asked if that would be fixed. The search function is pretty important for this particular site’s users. I don’t think this is a problem with the free version but I’m not sure how to find out what’s going on.

In any case, I highly recommend it.
