    v 2.1.2

I see that to do anything here I must install plug ins. Which one is the best plug in for ease of use, no FTP?

Why do you need a plugin? Scroll down on the Write Post page and there’s an upload section. You can upload images through this form (no FTP required). It’ll even automatically make thumbnails for you and give you a nifty little set of options on how you want it to be displayed on the post.

    Now I feel stupid.

    Thanks Otto!

Now I too feel dumb, I tried the upload feature for the first time last night and received errors (like it can’t find the path…), I think it related to my chronic permissions/404 problem. I still can’t click on the Akismet plugin option without getting the dredded 404 error. blah

You can use image manager which adds some interesting features.

Good day Evrviglnt. Being a first time WordPress user and administrator for my site, I too wanted an easier way to handle images. Our present site has a lot of images that are already posted to its own directory. I currently use the method Otto42 mentioned. However, and remember I am a virgin to WordPress, how do I re-use the images already “uploaded” into WordPress? Is there something that I can activate to see what is available or must I upload each and every image?

I searched the plug-ins for images (there are 46!)so I would be able to have an elegant image handler that I could use to select images already uploaded into WordPress then edit into my new post. I am still looking.

While on the Write Posts screen, look closer at the built-in image uploader.

You’ll see it has two “tabs” up top: Upload and Browse All.

Upload is what you’re probably already familiar with. Click Browse All to see all uploaded images from all posts.

    Dear HandySolo,

    Thank you.
