This used to be one of my goto plugins that I installed on both my own and on client websites.

I found the ability to disable plugins on the back end an especially useful option for troubleshooting.

Now, this and many other options that were once available for free, now require the pro version.

I understand developers need to make a living, and they shouldn’t be expected to create these great products without compensation. However, the switch or removal of functionality that was once free to over 9000 users is pretty uncool

It’s still a good front-end option, and the pro version is rated 5 stars. However, since I’m rating the free version available on WordPress, I can only give it 3.

    Hi @gettingdownunder

“I understand developers need to make a living…”. Sorry, you understand nothing about that.

“Now, this and many other options”. What other options are you speaking about? The free version has a lot of free options.

If you don’t have enough money I suggest you go to work, as I do to provide this plugin.
In another case, use a different plugin.

    Best regards

    Jose

Your responses to long term users who might be a little upset about your changes are overly defensive and on the verge of aggressive.

To be fair to your comemnt – I have no idea about all the other changes and that might be a bit of a sweeping statement – however, there is little transparancy in your change logs about what you have changed – so who knows 🤷‍♂️ What I do know is, one of the key features that led me to use your plugin many years ago no longer works and I didn’t find this out until I went to install on another new website only to find that the well loved functionality I have used for years is no longer available. Which sucks – hence me flagging it here.

“It’s still a good front-end option, and the pro version is rated 5 stars. However, since I’m rating the free version available on WordPress, I can only give it 3.”

I’m sure you will continue to see much success with this plugin though please don;t leap down the throats of the users of your product (for many years) when they are taking the rime out to give you feedback.

Hey, only the backend options are now for PRO users, but only on new installations.

If you used the backend options, you will still see them with the free version. You will not see them if you never used them. What are you speaking about? Show the logs and be more detailed please.

And again, if you need PRO features, go to work. For living you have to work.

And don’t tell me how I have to speak. You are hiding your laziness and poor mentality behind your words. The truth is that you don’t have wish to work and earn money for something that is not given for free.

I give you a suggestion, use a different plugin, because if my financial condition goes worse, the free version will be converted to PRO. Start now before you are in the situation of having a problem on many websites.

As a side note, until you enjoyed the free version I’ve never heard about you. You have never contributed to anything. I would feel shame if I were you.

    Best regards

Your reaction is quite unprofessional Jose. A plugin is only as good as its developer. I have updated my review/rating accordingly and will be seeking an alternate product.

    Just a note.

This forum is full of fake people who leave bad reviews just to get help or a PRO feature in a sneaky way.
Often, these kinds of requests are answered by equally fake authors who act super nice while, in reality, thinking completely differently.

Our society is built on falsehoods and lies.
I prefer to be real. My integrity matters more to me than simply appearing like a professional developer.

If you’re afraid of honesty, don’t work with me, and don’t install any of my plugins.
To all the genuine people out there—thank you for being you. If you need a developer who values authenticity as much as you do, don’t hesitate to contact me.
