What to expect on upgrade from 2.3.3 to current version

    I am new to WordPress and to supporting a blog that uses WordPress. It needs to be upgraded from version 2.3.3 to the current version. It is currently using the Independence Day theme.

    I have not done an upgrade for WordPress before. What, if any, issues should I watch for when I do the upgrade? I want to do this as soon as possible so that all security updates can be in place, but need to make sure the blog will continue to be accessible to the members of the group.
