 * I downloaded a plugin (TinyMCE) that adds advanced editing capability to posts.
   I would really like to use this plugin but the only problem is it refuses to
   appear. I’ve been to the plugin forum, posted a question and done everything
   I could think of to get it to work. Installed, reinstalled, deactivated, reactivated,
   etc.
    So, my question is – is there any kind of debug tool I could use to get
   a clue why this plugin doesn’t work? Thanks

 * I have the same problem. It is an evil spirit. The only solution is suicide.

 * Why did you bother posting that? Take your own advice.

 * I truly apologize for my post. I had been trying all day to install tinymce without
   success and that’s how I felt.
 * It was not meant for you but an expression of my day-long frustration.
 * Peace

 * I also apologize for my harsh reply. Lots of built up frustration that just needed
   a little push to boil over.
 * So, getting back to it – does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I have already
   ruled out suicide 😉

 * this one?
    [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/)
   works on my test install

 * yes, that is the culprit. I’ve combed thru the support site and apparently many
   people have it working and a significant number have not gotten it to work. The
   site suggests several things to try if it doesn’t appear and none of those things
   have worked for me.
 * I guess the broader question is what do you do when this happens? Are there de-
   bugging techniques that will reveal the cause of the malfunction? Just need a
   clue as to why it’s not cooperating.
    Thanks

 * you could turn on error reporting for a clue

 * I decided to go around the problem. Installed Deans FCKeditor instead. Seems
   to have the same functionality.

 * Thanks
