    I really want to upgrade WP to the new version but I have so much custom stuff I feel I will have to stick with the old model.

    Has much core code changed in WP2?

    LOTS 🙂
    500+ changes.

    If you are unsure, backup absolutely everything. And then check the backup, and maybe even backup again. Then you can always go back if you need to.
    No backup = no going back.

    sorry for the dupes, when I posted I got 404 error although they posted!
