What is tracked - Full downloads? Streams? Both? (2 posts)

    Hi there,
my podcasts can be streamed with a flash audio player or directly downloaded (via media.blueberry.com).

Are the streams tracked by blubrry as well? Or just the downloads? Is there a difference in the statistics?

    thanks

The streaming you are referring to is technically a download and yes it is counted.

A true stream would come from a Flash Media server, Shoutcast or comparable server. If you were using such a streaming server, then Blubrry Statistics are not counting those since the content is streamed in real-time. Such a server would hopefully provide it's own statistics, such as who's currently watching/listening, etc...

If the flash player accesses the media with a file extension such as mp3, m4a, mp4, m4v, then it is "downloaded" and Blubrry can track it.
