    Hi Fredrik,

Thanks for getting in touch about this. I’m sorry to hear about this error.

We have seen this once where the issue was that the pages were being deleted and then new pages were being published at the same URL. An object caching plugin then returned the ID of the deleted page, breaking some core WP functionality, and causing Independent Analytics to look up a page that doesn’t exist and return empty data. Does this sound like something that could be happening on your website?

    Thanks Ben,

No, I don’t really recognise that description. I was away last week and didn’t change anything on that site. Strange.

It peaked on Friday and Saturday. We have a newsletter going out every Friday afternoon, maybe it could be liked with that. Will check the coming Friday and Saturday if it repeats.

Looking at the stats now and these issues are very low now.

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know.

I have a suspicion that it was related to one of the pages linked to in the newsletter. Do you have a publicly archived version of the newsletter I could take a look at?

    Thank you!

I took a look at a few pages, but nothing is looking out of the ordinary to me. One thing you could check is to visit this page in the post editor and check post_ID value in the URL. IA thinks it should be 8106, and it would be good to confirm that this is the correct ID.

Yes, it is 8106 in the editor.

    Okay that’s good.

At this point, I’m not exactly sure what happened. If this error occurs again with your next newsletter, please reach out to us at support@independentwp.com and we can assist further.

I will get back to you next week when we have the stats from this Fridays newsletter.

    Hi again,

Since Tuesday the 4th of Febr there has been no hits like this.

So I guess we can consider this a temporary glitch – or something.

    Thanks for your help.

    Fredrik,

Thanks for following up here. I’m glad to hear this issue has not reoccurred, so I will mark this as resolved.

If you need anything else, please get in touch again and I’ll be happy to help.
