Support » Plugin: WordApp Mobile App Plugin - Convert your WordPress Site to a Mobile App » What is the difference between an update and a republication?

    Hi Dave, I can see that the changes I make in the WordApp Appbuilder changes the app, which is already published in Google Play Console.
    I believed that a new APK and version code was necessary for updating the app through Google Play Console?

    A republication demands a new APK and version code. What is the difference between an update and a republication and when do you need to republicize an already publicized app?

    regards

    Carsten

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your message.

    You only need to upload to google play a new version of your app if you change the following.

    * App Name
    * App icon
    * App Splash screen.

    The rest of the content will update automatically.
    If you want to use push notifications you may need to reupload your app too.

    Hi Dave, I can see that publishing changes from within the Word App dashboard runs seamlessly.Earlier I have asked about uploading and publishing a new version from the Google Play Console. Here I was stocked, because a re-publication demanded a new APK and version code, which is not easy to obtain.
    Please explain when a new version code is needed?

    regards

    Changing the app logo and splash screen in the WordApp dashboard does not chance the logo and splash screen in Google Play?

    Hi there,

    I’m not sure what you mean by the version number problem can you please send me a screenshot via email. support@app-developers.biz.

    You need to reupload to change the splash screen and app icon as they are part of the app structure.
