    Hello!
I can’t find the right method to do this, please help!
I just start with WP, so excuses if this question is too easy.
I use WooCommerce and I have many similar products categories with similar attributes but with very different attributes values/terms! For example I create ProductGroup “Hats” and ProductGroup “Pants”. Both categories products have a ‘Size” Attribute. But “Hats” (for example) have “Size” values: XXL,XL,L,M,S; but “Pants” have “Size” values: 32/34/36/38/40/etc — so they attributes have an identical names, but totally different values/terms! The same for example for pc monitors and smartphones screen size – 17-24″ vs 4-7″. Etc.
Just to use Product Attributes at simple manner how they already exist at WooCommerce are not very comfortable because: a) for many product categories their values-terms will become too overloaded/excessive; b) it may cause to a mess with searching/filtering products at different product categories.
For example plugin named as “WooCommerce Group Attributes” from welaunch.io does not really helps with this problem, because it only helps to insert many attributes to a new product, but does not separate values or even attributes for different product groups. 🙁
    1) So what is the best way to separate different products attributes or/and different products attributes values/terms for each product category??? Maybe for this purpose exist or some one can create some plugins??? (With multilanguage support of Polylang, please.)
    2) Does WooCommerce frontend products filter consider of all products attributes values that exist at now chosen product categorie or not? For example for product category “Pants” filter will show only “Hats” “Size” values (XXL,XL,L,M,S) and will hide unused “Size” values for a “Pants” (32/34/36/38/40/etc) or filter will always shows to buyers all “Size” attributes values/terms???
    3) What is the best way to mix at product description page at one “specification column”: (a) pre-defined products attributes terms like standardized “Size” with (b) individual parameters like width/length/weight/etc?
    4) Also for some products attributes I want to add small description-remarks-info that must clarify to buyers what this attribute means and how filter with this attribute works. For example at “WP-WooCommerce – Products – Add New product – Product info – Inventory_product_data” – near field SKU there are a small round question symbol that shows a small balloon tooltip when rolling mouse on it – I want to have the same possiblity for products attributes and for filters that uses those attributes. How I can get it?
PS To avoid a mess, please, save numbering at answer.
With respect to all WP community.

If you create attributes per category and save them globally, that would work well, else you can create an attribute specifically for the product.

    2) Does WooCommerce frontend products filter consider of all products attributes values that exist at now chosen product categorie or not? Filters do stack, so they would work like you are describing, yes.

    3) What is the best way to mix at product description page at one “specification column”: (a) pre-defined products attributes terms like standardized “Size” with (b) individual parameters like width/length/weight/etc?

You can set up attributes for specific products, which is what you are describing there.

That would be some customization to achieve – We highly recommend contacting one of the services on our Customizations page (https://woocommerce.com/customizations/)

    Thanks for answers.

    1) “If you create attributes per category and save them globally, that would work well, else you can create an attribute specifically for the product.”
But I don’t see at WP-WooC possibility to “create attributes per category”! Or you mistake with it or please clarify…

    3) “You can set up attributes for specific products, which is what you are describing there.”
It’s a uncomfortable to re-write again and again many similar attributes for each product. It will be much better if WP-WooC will have “PredefinedAttributes” which must be chosen from the pre-entered list as it already works-exist and a new type “EnteredAttributes” which values must be entered individually for each product as “Weight, Length. Height, etc”. Also both types of Attributes truly needs a grouping possibility as gives “WooCommerce Group Attributes” plugin.

    4) What is the best place/site to find truly high professional WP-WooC regular developer for a long-time cooperative work? (My topics with developer searching at this forum was closed by a aboriginal moderators. :(( )

    10) What is the right method at this forum to transfer topics questions to developers requests? (Create a new topics? or move all thread?)

    Hey there,

If you’d like to see changes made to WooCommerce, you’re welcome to create an enhancement request on the WooCommerce Github repository:
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/new/choose

Please do summarize exactly what you’re looking for when writing an issue or enhancement request, so that all information is in the same place.

If you’re looking to find a good developer to work with, I highly recommend contacting one of the services on our customizations page: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

I hope that helps you in the right direction!

    Hi GV,

Being new to WooCommerce I googled ‘attributes for categories’ and so far could not get a clear answer, but I have an alternate solution:

If you need ‘attributes’ that repeat for specific categories and all their products you should try custom fields instead. There is a free plug-in, ACF, that lets you create custom fields and you simply assign them to the desired categories. I’m not sure about the compatibility with Woo, but you get the idea.
If that does not work, try manually creating the custom fields, I found this link for Woo:
    https://remicorson.com/mastering-woocommerce-products-custom-fields/

There might be an easier way to do this, but since no-one answered your question I thought about sharing my thoughts on this.
