What is the best way to delete a defunct WordPress blog?

Hi, I’m just looking for some advice or tips on the best way to shut down a blog that’s not being used anymore due to privacy concerns.

I have saved the posts/comments and installed the blog locally so I can continue to update it offline as a personal journal.

Now I would like to remove the blog from the internet completely and I want to make sure I don’t overlook anything that could continue to be loaded and/or read. What steps should I take and in what order?
