Support » Requests and Feedback » What is “Texturize”?

  • Hi,
I’ve installed wordpress .7 and everything is running smoothly. (I changed the auto to auto <p style=”margin:0px;”> so that my site still looks the same.)
Anyway, I’m just wondering what “Texturize” is. Is it the same as Textile? Also, what are the new templates, and how can I use them?
    Finally, what is Google Hilite?
Thanks, sorry if the questions are a bit basic.
Just one other thing, when I was registering here, I got an error about an email not being sent.

Rather than modify the autop function, just add the rule p { margin: 0; } to your CSS. Texturize “is a tool which intelligently fixes up plain text to be more typographically correct, this includes curly or smart quotes, em and en dashes, proper ellipsies, encdoded ampersands (for those pesky URLs), and a number of other things.”
Google hilite is not implemented yet, but when it is it will highlight search terms on your web page the way Google does when you view a Google-cached page.
