What is #respond?

  • Looking at my logs, some one referenced one of my posts and appended to the end of the URL was #respond. Comments are closed on that post. How did #respond get appended?

    Thanks,
    Brett

  • It’s just an anchor that refers to a specific place in your HTML document — most likely <div id="respond">.

It basically scrolls the webpage to that particular place. There’s a #respond div on all posts, even if it contains a message saying, “comments are closed”.

Thanks. What do you click to get it?

you would click the “leave a comment” or similar link.

Like I was saying earlier, comments are closed. When hovering over anything else, I don’t see respond. I even did a view source and don’t see it.

It’s probably inserted as a normal part of the core wp processes. It’s not a problem….
