What Is Index.RDF?

    I am noticing that quite a few people on my WordPress site are trying to view http://www.jeffro2pt0.com/index.rdf which provides them with a 404 error. What is it that these visitors are looking for? What is an index.rdf and why would visitors be trying to browse that file?

    within the context of a blog setting — rdf files contain feeds.

    What would you suggest? Should I create an index.rdf file or should I create a redirect to my sites rss feed when people try to browse or locate that file? These people are skyrocketing my 404 error count.

    have you determined that they are people? I dont recommend doing anything without determining the source of the traffic, first.

    Unless the domain you are seeing the traffic on recently migrated away from another application that might have used that file, I dont see why you would have cause to believe that’s the case.

    In other words.. hits dont always come from ppl. And sometimes, most times, in fact, those hits are better off seeing a 404.
