I created a new blog and within 1 hour – I already had a spam comment – of course it didn’t get posted – however, I got a notification that said something like “comment has been held for moderation, approve it, spam it or delete it” – don’t remember exactly.
What would be GREAT is that when they put in their email address, a code gets sent to their email address and they have to prove it is their email address by filling in that code (at least for the 1st comment). Because right now these spam bots just fill in any email address.
Any chance you can do this? Or is there a plugin that already handles that?
