  • I’m using Genesis with Executive child theme. Hostgator is hosting. It’s been a good site for over a year. I somehow screwed up my php file by pasting then deleteing some code from studiopress (gravatar customization) and now I can’t even get back in to edit. Just shows this message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home1/bahudz/public_html/wp-content/themes/executive-pro/functions.php on line 5

  • can you revert back to your old version of the functions.php file?

if not, you can delete the one in your child theme (copy to your desktop first) from the ftp.

I’m unable to click anything… parse error comes up. will only display home page in admin mode. can’t even log out

do you know how to access your site via ftp? if not, ask your hosting company for instructions.

You can then delete the functions.php file in your child theme and it should start working again.

I’m on hold with them now. I only know what ftp stands for… that’s it
