• Hello guys,
I am learning wordpress and have been using plugins to make sliders. Now when i uploaded the site to a hosting server and log in and see the dashboard, the plugins are installed, but are not activated and the slides that i have added using the plugins in dashboard are not there either. Which means I have to manually log in to the host’s dashboard server and again re-do the slides. Why is this happening and why are the plugins not being migrated?

When you migrated the site, did you move the database as well as the files? It sounds like you only did the files.

Yes i did migrate my db using export and import. I may not have done it correctly though.

Importing your database should have transferred the state(s) of your plugins. How did you do your site migration?

    My method:

    1. Download all files via FTP to my computer.
    2. Edit wp-config.php to account for any changes in DB stuff.
    3. Upload files via fTP to new host.
    4. Export database from phpmyadmin
    5. Import database on new site via phpmyadmin
    6. If there were any URL changes, fix with this search/replace script.
