What happens to plugin effect after a wp udpate?

    Great plugin and thank you very much for your efforts.
    I have a question:

    I’m assuming the plugin alters xml-rpc.php file but doesn’t a wp upgrade override the file?
    This should not be a problem as a new update will patch the vulnerability but do I need to reactivate the plugin after each wp update?
