    Hi,

I’m looking for a plugin that displays my Google Calendar info on the site in a nice way and I like how this one looks. The one question I have so far is…

This plugin imports the items from the Google Calendar and creates individual Event type posts on my WP site. I can then open those events and change settings, add descriptions, etc.

However, if the feed is set to refresh every 24 hours, does it then bring in the data form the feed and overwrite everything I did or is it smart enough to see that an event was already imported and not reimport it? And what if I changed something on the site and changed something on the Google Calendar? Just trying to figure out the best way to manage these things.

    Thanks!

  • It overwrites local changes as there is currently no way to tell if the feed itself has changed (eg: the date/time/details of the event has changed in the feed) as opposed to by someone editing them locally.

This feature has been requested a number of times by a number of people, so it’s on Time.ly’s radar – But other stuff that has been on the radar for longer is getting precedence.

OK. That’s what I figured. So I should just either make all the changes in the Google Calendar, or just not use the Google Calendar and create all events directly in the UI…

    Thanks.

If you have all the events in Google already, and you want to use the calendar for everything from now on, you can import them then delete the feed.

When you delete the feed, it will ask you if you want to delete or keep the events, so just select to keep them.

From then on, you can edit everything in the calendar.

    Great. Thanks for the tip.
