  • There used to be a quick tag, right above the textarea where we write the post.

It will insert the <!–nextpage–> tag to the content and then it will help you make a post that goes into multiple pages.

For some reasons, I am not able to see it now. Is it removed ?

  • It is still in the wp-includes/quicktags.js but it is commented out (around line 135).

Any Reason why ? Is it going to be removed in future ?

That’s a question for the hackers list 🙂

Maybe someone thought it wasn’t being used much and was taking up precious real estate. I mean, >I< use it heavily (well, I use a modified format with my PageNames plugin, to do <!--nextpage:Some page name--> tagging…), but most blogs I see out there don’t use multiple pages. Those long posts I see are usually one long page, with multiple sub-headers within the page (which, btw, is also useful — I just haven’t taken advantage of such plugins…).
