Support » Fixing WordPress » What happened to my site

  • Hello,

Yesterday I received an email my WordPress had been updated to 4.9.10. This is strange because I didn’t initiate any updates, but it happened anyway.

Today, I check my website and everything has been reset. My entire site is gone. It’s a default WordPress theme.

And the weirdest part is that I can’t even login to my WP account. Somehow the username and password are incorrect even though I didn’t change anything. I had to make this account just to access the forums.

I’m an idiot who didn’t make any backups because I only recently made the site. No excuse for my complete disregard.

But what caused all this? I didn’t have auto-updates enabled, otherwise it would have updated to to v5 on its own. Is there anyway to regain my site and account?

Thank you, for your time and any help. I have to lose tomorrow rebuilding my site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,
Just checked the site & it loads fine , I mean its accessible.
Can you post more detailed info , if you still feel something has to be fixed?

Maybe you have automatic updates from your server that you must close if you want to control the updates. I think also that you can ask from your hosting provider to bring back the site from backup. Most of the hosting company’s keeping one free backup for 24 hours.
