I don't know what to put in this field.

I have the password and user right, I have uploaded the whole WordPress folder and named it "jblog" and I'm planning to have my blog appear at

    What am I missing?

When you created a database, you should have had to pick a name for it, or had your hosting default to one. Sometimes the name will have a prefix based on your account, so even if you named your database 'blog', then it will actually be 'sotied-blog' (for example, based on your username here).

I went to my Control Panel on my site and it told me the path to my blog was:

So I put all that into the config text and it's still giving me this message (even after re-uploading that file and refreshing) *My name and password are correct....what's the deal with changing the local host name?

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

Finally, here's what my index of stuff on my site looks like, am I just putting too much info on the config.php form?

    jblog.html [Delete] [Rename] [Password

    OR the path to that....

    Current Directory:/home/jeff/jeffcutler-www/jblog.html

You need to create a MySQL database and user, then enter that information into wp-config.php. See: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Step_2:_Create_the_Database_and_a_User
