Support » Plugins » What file to edit for Advanced Custom Fields Plugin

  • Hello all,

    I am using a twenty ten child theme and have just installed the Advanced Custom Fields plugin.

    I have created my fields, the problem is I do not know what file to edit (or where) to have the fields I created appear on all new posts?

    I think I have to enter <p><?php the_field('field_name'); ?></p> in some file, just do not know which one or where?

    Any help would be much apprecaited.

    Twenty ten has a bunch of loop templates.

    loop-page.php
    loop.php
    loop-single.php

    If you want these to appear on pages, use loop-page.php, single posts, loop-single.php, otherwise use the other one.

    Hi Christine,

    Thanks for the reply. I tried placing <?php $field = get_field($make); ?> (where make is field name) in the loop and loop-single but unfortunately did not seem to work.

    <?php else : ?>
    <div class="entry-content">
    <?php the_content( __( 'Continue reading <span class="meta-nav">→</span>', 'twentyten' ) ); ?>
    <?php $field = get_field($make);
    </div><!-- .entry-content -->
    <?php endif; ?>

    Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Thanks.
