  • Does WordPress ping the list indicated in the admin panel (i.e. where the default pingomatic is) when a post that is published is saved again after changes or only when initially posted to?

And does it ping when you publish a page, add keys to posts already published?

Exactly what events trigger WP to ping?

Please help — I don’t want to be re-editing posts and spamming ping services every time I add a comma.

Editing a post (usually) changes the contents of the post. An updated post ought to announce itself to the update services, to let everyone know that something has changed.

I’m not sure if publishing Pages, or adding meta key/value pairs to an existing post, will trigger an update.
