• My website, http://www.kxnb.net has recently been the target of a brute force attack.
    Security measures installed are:
    Login Security Solution plugin
    wp-admin folder is password protected
    strong administrator password
I still worry, however, and I’m not a computer guru. I’ve noticed records like this in the CPanel Recent Visitors list from an unknown IP: http://kxnb.net/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron=1370700956.3893499374389648437500
    also:
    http://kxnb.net/?bfa_ata_file=js
    and:
    /?p=1
Do I have reason to worrry?

  • the first url is related to a cron job, the link does not tell us what is being done…(ask any security related plugin devs you are using if they use cron or your host who may be testing if site is still clean)

the second is from your theme, atahualpa.

the third is a non-permalinks link to a post with id of 1.

Whether that indicates that you have solved how the infection occurred is quite a different matter…

    Thanks for the info.

Actually, I was wondering if the site was compromised or not. All the security measures mentioned in the first post have been there since we set it up. I’m hoping they are enough.
