    In WF Central I keep re-syncing my template only to find shortly after that it says “Local Changes” where it previously said “In Sync.” What does this mean and why does it keep going out-of-sync? Is there a way I can view what the local changes are?

    Hi @shoelaced,

    This sometimes occurs when a template setting that doesn’t hit Wordfence validation rules (such as 0 when minimum allowed value is 1) can cause this error message to appear. We are looking into this currently to provide better feedback, although it’s not necessarily the cause in your case.

    So that I can compare the settings could you please send me a diagnostic report from the affected site to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks Peter. All of my sites are affected, but I’ve sent it from one I had open (it’s a multisite with a mapped domain, so the logs may have multiple domains in them). But this is happening regardless of single-site or multisite, Apache or Ngnix, etc.

    Bump same here, across all sites. We even tried to copy our template, and then apply to all sites. Keeps reverting back to Local Changes and if we re-apply this notices keeps appearing:

    **** template to 1 site will change 1 options:
    touppPromptNeeded Off

    Diagnostics report sent by email with our forum username.

    Now it’s saying “Template Modified, Local Changes” as the sync status for all my sites. I haven’t changed anything.

    Hi @shoelaced,

    We believe that we found a premium-only feature enabled on the dashboard settings for your template and removed that value from our end. There is a strong chance this is the cause of the local changes message, as from your diagnostics/Central settings we did not find the other invalid values I spoke of in my original reply. Due to the quantity of sites affected by the template change, this was not pushed from our end in case it affected them during a busy period.

    Please update the sites with the modified template and let us know if the local changes message subsides.

    Thanks, I’ll re-sync them and let you know if it continues. What was the premium-only feature? I’ve never had premium so I’m not sure how it would have become enabled.

    Update: I re-synced them and they’ve almost all started saying “Local Changes” again. If you want to try re-syncing yourself, feel free — I’ve re-synced them in bulk several times now and haven’t seen any server issues.

    Still reverting to local changes for ~half the sites.
    Any updates?

    Hi @shoelaced,

    I am just replying to state I have created a “V2” version of your template which I assigned to your sites, so don’t be alarmed to see that in your account. There are no significant changes over your previous template, I was using it for debugging purposes.

    It is reporting the same “Template Modified, local changes” so the Central team are helping me take a look to see what setting(s) might be flagging an issue so I will get back to you as soon as I can.

    Hi @shoelaced,

    Most sites are staying as “In Sync” now with two exceptions, which I believe must actually have local changes as 13/15 are reporting back correctly, whereas we weren’t experiencing that before. Let me know if you believe this to be incorrect, but it might be worth checking the settings on those sites to see where they might differ from the rest.

    The template is reporting “Local Changes” because of these two sites and would report “In Sync” if all 15 sites were unchanged. The Sync State column is no longer incorrectly stating the template has been modified. The current situation should be the expected behaviour.

    Thanks Peter. I’ll check them but if those two sites are re-synced from Central, shouldn’t their settings match the others? I’m the only one with access and I haven’t touched them.

    After seeing your post this morning, we re-applied our v002 template to all sites and about 10 of our sites have reverted back to “Local Changes”.

    Hi @acadiasys, my previous response may have been lost with my messages to the thread starter but could you please start a new topic as per the forum guidelines and feel free to cite this ticket and anything you’ve already tried to solve the problem at your end?

    We ask for topics to concentrate on a specific customer’s issue as the cause of a similar problem isn’t always the same.

    I appreciate your response and the two sites may not match the others if there have been some settings changes at the sites’ end at any time, however I’m in conversation with the Central team to see if we can identify exactly what the template might be seeing as different and how that could occur.
