 * Hello. If I open Hummingbird–>Asset Optimization, there is a blue ‘Activate’
   button ([screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/y3jk5cM.jpg)). What exactly will occur
   if I click this button? Specifically, will any changes be made to my site? Or
   will clicking this button just scan for changes to be made?
 * [This documentation page ](https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hummingbird/#minification)
   seems to say that changes will indeed be made. I’d just like to confirm that.
 * I believe I tried this once on another site, and changes were made which broke
   my site– changes which I could not undo. That’s the cause for my concern here.
 * Thanks.

 * Hello [@carlgross](https://wordpress.org/support/users/carlgross/)
 * I hope all is well!
 * The Asset Optimization allows optimizing all the assets that are loading on your
   site. These assets are CSS, JS, and fonts.
 * If the Activate button is clicked, the plugin will scan for all available assets
   on your site, and within the asset list, you can choose which files to minify.
 * You may additionally enable advanced mode to reveal more options. Please have
   a look at this article with additional information on how to use Asset Optimization:

   [https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/eliminate-render-blocking-issues-hummingbird/](https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/eliminate-render-blocking-issues-hummingbird/)
 * Changes in Asset Optimization needs to be made one file at a time. Every time
   a change is made, please check the front end if all is well. If all is well,
   continue to the next file.
 * Changes can be reverted and reset easily. If the front end appearance is affected,
   please unselect the last enabled option to revert back to the way it was.
 * Overall Asset Optimization setting can be reset or deactivated from Hummingbird
   > Asset Optimization > Settings. Please see this screenshot:

 * Hope this helps!
 * Kind regards,
    Nastia
