I very seriously doubt it’s wordpress… assuming you set everything up correctly.

I’d start with your hosting provider. Have them run a test and see if their results fall within range of yours.

Otherwise, it might be your ISP. Have you tried accessing the site from a different location?

By the way, the report link you posted is invalid.

I checked with my ISP and there seems no problem. I did an auto install using Softaculous which set everything up fine. Somebody thought it could be to do with AJAX?

Sorry, I am trying to understand what the problem is. Yesterday I was told not to “Bump” after replying to a post, so I thought it better to re-phrase the question, and start again.

The answers you’ve already been given boil down to the following possible causes:
    – a poor or memory intensive theme
    – poor or memory intensive plugins
    – your hosts’ server is slow

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Thanks, that very helpful. I will only post if i identify the problem area.

Hi,I de-activated all the Plugins, no change. I changed the Theme to Twenty Eleven, no change. I then renamed the plugins folder, no change, I removed the link from the home page html to the Blog, no change.

Any other suggestions I could try?

I noticed that your problem starts when trying to load resources like “http://www.drachsi.com/images/page1-icon1.jpg” seem to take forever before they load (12+ secs on the waterfall graph I did) and that is before the server responds with a 304 telling me the image is un-modified.

You either have a seriously overloaded web-server on those statics, or it is BADLY miss-configured…

Use firebug or something like that and see which resources are taking time to load.

The hosting company is now working on the problem. I do have 2 questions.
    1. Does it make any difference if I install WP in the root directory of my site or in a folder called wp ?
    2. How could I make copy of the existing posts?
