after working with a client for months trying to find a fully functional e-commerce solution for their site that sells construction materials, here is what a truly awesome ecommerce WP plugin should have: (and yes, I think people would be willing to pay for it!)
    1. Products able to be added to posts and pages via a button in the editor.

    2. Weight based shipping that can calculate multiple packages. My client’s UPS account has a limit of 150lbs per package and it would be great to have a rate calculator that could do the following math: 4 products ordered at 45lbs each = 180lbs = 2 pkgs of 90lbs each = rate calculation for 90lbs x 2

    3. Full integration with a shipping vendor API. Of course the Rate calculator for a particular vendor is great, but what about companies that have a commercial account? Even as an additional add-on, someone out there must be able to put together a plugin that can generate a shipping label and tracking.

Cart66 comes the closest in my opinion, but they lack the shipping multiple packages and label generating capabilities. Plugin developers everywhere, I know people are looking for a full ecommerce solution that integrates nicely with a WP site. I can email UPS shipping developer guides if you need ’em.
