# What about Theme source code comments?

 * Hi,
 * I’d like to ask for your opinion about commenting Theme sources.
    Should I place
   comments in style.css and other Theme files? Do you think it can decrease performances
   of site “rendering”?
 * Note: I usualy provide comments in source code I create. So, I’d like to comment
   i.e. CSS elements etc.

 * Having in mind that users just _love_ to tweak themes – it is a very good idea
   to comment the source 🙂
    I don’t think it would substantially affect the performance.

 * As a user I’d take the milliseconds degradation in performance to avoid the hours
   of frustration from not having comments.

    I’ve just read [http://codex.wordpress.org/Stepping_Into_Templates](http://codex.wordpress.org/Stepping_Into_Templates)
   where it is also recommended in the “Comment Deviations” tip. Cheers

 * Commenting is a superb idea – it’s a breeze to optimise CSS for performance, 
   and like tom says it can save hours of yelling 🙂
