Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan » wfHoover ballooned to 3.5M records

  • Have a look at wfHoover (screenshot): it suddenly ballooned to more than 3.5M records! The other WF tables contain ‘normal’ numbers (of records), so I’m not sure what happened, but I got an alert my diskspace was almost running out….

Would it be an idea to empty WF-tables based on date (records older than, say, 1 month) and/or number of records per table (say 25.000) – which routine is run once a week? That way bloat is prevented/removed?

  • Hi,

It should be cleared at the start of each scan automatically. I’m going to link you to another thread where Tim explains how to empty. See if that gets the behavior back to normal.

Thanks Brian. I didn’t know it being cleaned out on scanning – I guess during a scan something went wrong and I could have waited for the next scan to start.

The screenshot I made of this plugin:
WP DB Manager – it also lets you empty tables (which I do regularly, as other WF-tables grow pretty quickly as well). After that I optimize and backup – using the same plugin.
